MOTHER, DAUGHTER, SISTER,
About Deborah Mason
My name is Deborah Mason and I am the owner of In 60 Minutes.
Originally from New Zealand, I moved to Australia in the early eighties and after six months or so in Darwin I settled in McLaren Vale with a new (Australian) husband and my eldest child. My two youngest children were both born and raised in McLaren Vale (Adelaide). When they were younger I was actively involved in the local community, helping out at the local school and serving on various committees (the netball club, OSHC etc).
I also took the opportunity while I was a stay at home mum to go back to school (well, university really) and earn a Commerce degree. I was the first member of my family to earn a university degree and I am proud to say that two out of my three children have followed in my footsteps. We now have a lawyer and a primary school teacher in the family!
I had so much fun studying that I found that one degree wasn’t enough – I now have three! My qualifications include:
- Ordinary Degree of Bachelor of Commerce
- Honours Degree of Bachelor of Commerce
- Masters of Education by Research
I was also a CPA (Certified Practising Accountant) or over ten years, I have completed a Certificate IV Coaching qualification, a Certificate IV in Small Business Management and I recently qualified as a Volunteer Ambulance Officer in WA!
I have experienced a full and varied career and successfully guided my children to adulthood. I firmly believe in lifelong learning and will continue to see challenges to come as learning opportunities. But the really good news is that I am prepared to put all of that experience and expertise at your disposal!
